Nova Trust is a leading New Zealand NGO and Social Enterprise, supporting those affected by alcohol, drugs, and other life challenges since 1981. Their skilled and compassionate people work closely with service users, their whanau, families and communities to change and save lives.
The Trust is based in Canterbury, operating in a rural setting on the outskirts of Christchurch. As Service Manager – Operations and Contracts, and in conjunction with the CEO and management team, you will be a part of the successful management and growth of the Trust and its services. You will have operational responsibility for the effective and efficient management and delivery of Alcohol and Drug services and a range of administrative functions across the Trust.
They currently deliver three distinct services:

Nova Recovery is a recovery-oriented, residential service providing treatment, rehabilitation, and supported accommodation for those affected by addiction.
Nova STAR provides services, as an 'Approved Provider', under the Substance Addiction (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act 2017. The service is about improving the health and wellbeing of individuals placed under the Act and is part of wider models of care operating nationally.
Nova Fresh is a well-established Social Enterprise, operating a thriving horticulture and farming business, which provides Nova service-users the opportunity of developing employment and life skills as part of their treatment programme.

The position is part of the Executive Leadership and Management Team, working with the CE, Commercial Manager (Nova Fresh), Facilities & Finance Manager, Clinical Services Manager, wider team, and Board, in the effective leadership of the Trust.
Haepapa – What are your responsibilities:

Lead and direct the development and quality improvement of Nova's addiction (Treatment and Recovery) Services.
Lead the contracting and contract management, stakeholder relationships & partnerships, and marketing, relating to the Addiction (Treatment and Recovery) Services, in conjunction with the CE.
Provide leadership and direction to the Addiction (Treatment & Recovery) Services' people and staff teams, working across areas of responsibility & accountability, in conjunction with the Clinical Services Manager.
Oversee, coordinate, and manage the operational delivery of Addiction (Treatment & Recovery) Services, Nova STAR, Nova Recovery and Nova Respite, in conjunction with the Clinical Services Manager.
Support, uphold and enhance Nova's vision and purpose, values, culture, and strategic direction, relating to AOD/Addiction Services' delivery.

Tumanako a Whirikoka – What you will need to bring:

Tertiary qualification in Health, Mental Health, Addictions, Management, or a related field.
Previous experience at Senior Management level in a mental health/ health environment or sector.
Prior experience in service delivery and/or management.
Exemplary interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships that are genuine and sound.
Strong financial acumen and experience in financial and budgetary management & control.
Experience and skills in project managing new initiatives from conceptualization to implementation.
Understanding of relevant registration & accreditation within the health sector.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships and teams, and possesses some human resources skills and understanding.
