Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleThe Service Manager - Medical Services reports to the Group Director Operations for Health New Zealand Lakes and is responsible for the operational performance of the Medical Service across the Lakes District, ensuring the delivery of high quality services that meet patient care requirements effectively and efficiently. The role will work in partnership with the Clinical Director and Head of Department for Medical Services. As a member of the Lakes management team, you will contribute at a senior level and be involved in multiple initiatives across the organisation.The successful appointee will work in partnership with inter-sectoral providers, community stakeholders, iwi and other Lakes and regional managers to maximise the provision of clinically appropriate services in the Rotorua and Taupo regions.About youDemonstrates strong operational skills and background in hospital managementA strong commitment and knowledge of clinical quality is essentialHas understanding and commitment to community-based and integrated service delivery across acute, chronic and long term care.Works collaboratively with teams, building and networking skills and engaging with external providers and agencies as required.A strong commitment to Maori health and equity of outcomesStrong accountability with a focus on performance.Strong financial, budgetary and performance management skillsStrong ability to develop and implement robust business cases around service management and capital expenditureA background as a health clinician is highly desirable but not essentialCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.The applicant will be focused on robust operational performance, and continuous improvement. The successful applicant will be able to balance this with change management, managing forward planning and developing robust business cases where appropriate.
