We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Service Manager to join our team. Our highly motivated team of doctors, nurses, allied health and support staff in the Mental Health Addiction and Intellectual Disability Directorate deliver high quality inpatient and outpatient services.
Mo te turanga - About the role
The Mental Health Addiction and Intellectual Disability Directorate provides secondary mental health, addictions and intellectual disability services across Otago and Southland. Larger services, and inpatient services, are located in Dunedin and Invercargill, with teams servicing the wider District based in Oamaru, Balclutha, Gore, Clyde and Queenstown.
As Service Manager for General Adult Mental Health Services, you will be joining an enthusiastic and dedicated team of clinical managers, working closely with senior clinical and support staff, to deliver and enhance the provision of services across the District. This will include the active participation in the implementation of Te Hurihanga- Time for Change, as initiatives in this exciting sector-wide development are rolled out.
The Service Manager will be responsible for the overall operational management of the general adult mental health services across Otago. As Service Manager you'll be involved in partnering with the leadership team and your clinical colleagues to lead service delivery improvement as well as manage finance and human resources.
The focus of this role is to provide leadership and management to our services which consist of general adult inpatient wards, community mental health teams, the emergency psychiatric service, day programmes and consultation-liaison services. You will additionally have specific responsibilities for several staff Directorate support roles, as well as an active involvement in other Directorate initiatives.
Your ability to build constructive and effective relationships with staff throughout all levels of the organisation will be fundamental to your success in this role. Utilising your already extensive leadership experience and excellent communication skills, you will foster a service which works collaboratively to provide care that best meets the needs of our service users and whanau.
With tertiary qualifications (ideally in Health or Management), and leadership experience in a similar and relevant position, your contribution will be valued and appreciated. You can't do this alone however, so your ability to lead and engage, and your approachability and commitment to success will be evident in the roles you've held previously and your aspirations for the future.
