Our team does more than identify problems—we provide solutions.Position OverviewThe Wetlands Scientist and Permitting Specialist is responsible for developing EHS Support's wetland and waterways capabilities and the delivery of technical reports or other regulatory submittals to report findings. They lead federal, state, and local regulatory permitting processes to obtain authorization for construction and environmental remediation activities that may impact wetlands, waterways, or other regulated natural resources. The Wetlands Scientist and Permitting Specialist will also provide technical support to projects focused on ecological risk assessment, sediment assessment and remediation, biodiversity and ecological services, Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA), and water quality compliance.Plan and lead the assessment and delineation of wetlands, waterways, or other regulated natural resources in accordance with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and state protocols.Develop aquatic and terrestrial habitat restoration design plans.Provide assessment of wetland functions and values.Support NRDA process through restoration planning.Perform project manager responsibilities including but not limited to contributing to project strategy, implementing project execution plans, managing project financial performance, client management, mentoring and developing employees, ensuring timely deliverables, and understanding full project life cycle.Specific Experience and Skills10 – 15 years of freshwater and coastal wetland experience in environmental consulting; preferably in the states of New Jersey and New York.Experience in the following areas: plant and soil identification, ecological risk assessment, biological community surveys, state and federal special status species, National Environmental Policy Act documentation.Prior experience preparing state and federal wetland permit applications.Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and guidance under state and federal programs (e.g., RCRA, CERCLA).Familiarity with ESRI GIS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.Ability to travel to project sites, as needed, to complete field surveys in varying conditions.Excellent planning and organizational skills with strong problem-solving abilities.Strong communication skills and willingness to communicate proactively, efficiently, and directly with team members.Education and LicensesBachelors or Master's of Science degree in Science, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or closely related field of study.BenefitsGenerous Vacation Policy401k w/matching optionsShort- & Long-Term DisabilityLife InsuranceSick TimeCompany ValuesStrive for excellence, alwaysBe open, honest, and directAssume good intentionsTrust coworkers, leadership, and clientsListen to learnBe accountable for our workFoster teamworkDemonstrate integrityTake pride in one's workLive your personal valuesProvide a safe and health work environment that promotes wellnessHave fun!EEO Statement: EHS Support is an equal opportunity employer.
