As part of our Wastewater Operations team, you and your colleagues will work together to operate our wastewater treatment plant and major pump stations around the district. Think of it as pre-loved water. At the wastewater treatment plant, we do lots of 'sciency' stuff and turn it into pure H2O and an organic rich fertiliser.
This is a rostered position, therefore you would also need to be prepared to work weekends and be available to be on call and respond out of hours within Council's committed response times, as per a standby roster.
Key Responsibilities: Operate, maintain and improve wastewater treatment plant and equipment.Collaborate effectively with team members.Respond to out-of-hours emergencies as required.Minimum Requirements: To be successful in this role you will have proven skills, knowledge and experience operating, maintaining and improving wastewater treatment plant and equipment, be a reliable team player and a problem solver with a 'can do' attitude and come with an aptitude for cross team collaboration, communication and leadership.
We need someone with a keen eye for detail, the ability to learn quickly, have a solid health and safety mindset and care about our community and the natural environment.
Ideally you will have a Diploma in Wastewater Treatment at NZQCF Level 5, be working towards it with a Certificate in Wastewater Treatment at NZQCF Level 4 or equivalent knowledge and experience.
