Senior Volunteer Coordinator - Auckland Zoo
Auckland Zoo is recognised as one of the most progressive zoos in the world. A winner of national and international environmental-related awards, it is home to 126 different species and over 1,000 animals.
As the Senior Volunteer Coordinator, you will support the Manager Volunteer Programme (MVP) in developing and delivering the Volunteer Programme strategy. You'll play a vital role in shaping our volunteer programme to enhance Auckland Zoo's visitor experience while aligning with conservation goals. This role involves providing leadership for staff and volunteers, creating engaging visitor interactions, and coordinating volunteers to ensure smooth daily operations.
This is a permanent, part-time position of 32 hours per week.
Minimum Requirements Experience : You will have a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role, ideally with experience in volunteer management, adult learning, or visitor engagement.
Skills : Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and volunteer databases (Volgistics preferred).

Physical Requirements : Reasonable fitness to oversee volunteer activities across the zoo.

The salary for this role is $65,000k - 74,200k (per annum, pro rata based on skillset and experience).
