WILDLANDS IS LOOKING FOR A SENIOR VEGETATION ECOLOGIST TO JOIN OUR TEAM IN ROTORUA WHO BELIEVES IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOR INDIGENOUS BIODIVERSITY (CAN BE BASED IN ROTORUA, TAURANGA OR WHAKATANE)

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Due to growth within the company, we are looking for a talented experienced senior vegetation ecologist to join our Rotorua ecology team in our Rotorua office.
If you are a person who has a commitment to providing fit-for-purpose information to support good decisions and is a strategic thinker who relishes working at the interface between evidence and decision making, we would love to hear from you.
MUST HAVE:

Consultancy experience (desirable).
Strong New Zealand ecology knowledge.
Experience in ecological effects assessments, management and restoration of natural areas.
Ability to think strategically, and work proactively towards Wildlands Strategic vision.
Passion and commitment to excellent leadership with proven people management skills.
Great communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to build productive working relationships and work collaboratively.
Experience in working with ambiguity and dealing with complex problems.
An understanding of the importance of other knowledge bases and information sources (including matauranga Maori).
A postgraduate qualification in ecology, with good knowledge and experience of New Zealand botany and plant ecology, restoration biology and ecological management or expertise in another field of ecology.
