Position Overview: We are seeking a talented Senior UX/UI Designer to join our team. In this role, you will create intuitive and user-centred digital experiences across web and mobile platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UX and UI principles, a passion for solving complex design challenges, and the ability to turn ideas into visually compelling and user-friendly designs. You will have strong design foundations, with the ability to deliver design that is well-crafted and on brand, through a UX/UI lens. This role is available in-house from our Mt Maunganui office or remote (ideally from Auckland) for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities: User Research & Analysis: Conduct user research to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points. Analyse research data to generate actionable insights that inform design decisions. Design Thinking and Craft: Leaning on your core foundational design skills you will help drive the continual improvement of design quality, craft and consistency, through a UX/UI lens, amplifying the brands distinctive assets. Wireframing & Prototyping: Develop wireframes, user flows, mockups, and interactive prototypes to visualise and test design solutions before development. User Interface Design: Create high-quality, pixel-perfect UI designs for digital platforms, including websites, apps, and other interactive products, ensuring a cohesive and intuitive user experience. Conversion Rate Optimisation: Using analytics and usability testing tools, create designs that move visitors through experiences that increase conversion rates. Collaboration with Development Teams: Work closely with developers to ensure that design concepts are implemented accurately and efficiently, maintaining design consistency and high standards. Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability tests, analyse the results, and iterate on designs based on user feedback. Design Systems & Guidelines: Contribute to and maintain design systems, style guides, and UI component libraries to ensure consistency across all digital products. Stay Updated: Keep up to date with the latest UX/UI design trends, tools, and technologies to bring innovative solutions to the team. Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with the wider digital and marketing team, presenting design concepts and solutions to key stakeholders, explaining design rationale and how it addresses user needs and business goals. Requirements: Experience: 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design or a similar role, preferably within digital product design or eCommerce. Technical Skills: Proficiency in design tools such as Figma , Adobe XD , Sketch , or similar . Familiarity with prototyping tools like InVision , Axure , or Marvel . Basic knowledge of HTML , CSS , and front-end development principles. Design Skills: Strong foundational design skills with a focus on craft and brand consistency. Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles and methodologies. Excellent visual design skills with attention to detail. Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups that communicate ideas clearly. Research & Testing: Experience conducting user research, surveys, A/B testing, and analysing results to iterate on designs. Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams including developers, design and marketing.
