Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer in our Operational Planning team to provide expertise for investigation, advice and assessment to support decision making for projects, land use consenting and network performance.
A typical day might include:
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing technical operational planning & engineering advice.
Providing Operational Planning and transport engineering expertise, reviews and assessments into projects, strategic programmes and plans.
Undertaking regular performance reviews and audits of network to prioritise works. Advising on the impacts of development and projects on the operation of the network.
Providing subject matter expert input into Development Consent applications with the aim to ensure any potential impacts on the existing and future transport networks are managed effectively.
Collaborating with project managers and other specialists to ensure programmes are delivered on time, within budgets and to required standards.
Preparation of area transport system plans to outline outcomes on the network with changes to demand, projects and proposed operational changes in the next 5 years.

Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, transport planning, or related discipline.
5+ years' experience in general traffic engineering, preferred experience in analysis and transport planning.
Experience in use of traffic and road safety simulation tools preferred.
Experience in use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint.
