Transitioning Auckland's transport network on such a mammoth scale is no mean feat and we need a talented team to ensure we are up to this task.
This Senior Transport Planner will support the development and delivery of transport system plans and development of subsequent business cases.
Plans will need to address long term strategic transport system outcomes considering existing assets, growth and development and changing level of service demand.
Outputs will include geospatial plans, investment plans, and business cases for appropriate investments.
These plans will inform AT's long-term investment needs to be funded through the Regional Land Transport Plan and other funding mechanisms.
The role also requires oversight and review of work produced by professional advisors and consultants to ensure robust process and buy-in from stakeholders.
Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity Work closely with the Network Intelligence, Innovation & Analytics Group to develop evidence-based customer centric responses.
Preparation of area transport system plans to outline the long-term plans for transport and supporting land use and economic development plans.
Assist with the development of relevant business cases.
Contribute to strategic transport planning processes for the city centre, including coordination with Auckland Council and external stakeholders.
Ko koe tenei | About you Minimum five years' experience in feasibility studies, business case development.
A good understanding and knowledge of transport planning, urban planning, local and central government policies, legislation, and business case processes relating to transport.
A relevant tertiary qualification in transport planning, urban planning, project management or related discipline.
Desirable but not essential is extensive experience developing long-term investment plans, ideally in transport; public sector experience preferred, in coordinating and managing the delivery of major projects.
Demonstrated experience in leading the delivery of cross-departmental/agency or complex projects.
