As a Senior Transport Modeller , you will be a crucial decision influencer within Auckland Forecasting Centre (AFC), maintaining, updating, and utilizing transportation models to inform decision-makers about plausible urban mobility and infrastructure planning outcomes.
The role involves delivering multi-modal modelling advice to meet the AFC's partners' planning, operational, and infrastructure delivery needs, namely Auckland Council, NZ Transport Agency, and Auckland Transport.
Key Responsibilities Modelling Support: Provide advice for and undertake traffic modelling in response to modelling requests from the AFC's Partners to inform decision-makers of the potential outcomes.
Model Maintenance and Updates: Maintaining and updating Auckland's transport modelling assets to ensure they are accurate, relevant, and fit for purpose for ongoing analyses.
Apply Transport Models: Develop and apply advanced transportation models to evaluate the potential impacts of various transportation policies, projects, and initiatives, providing insights to stakeholders.
Data Interpolation and Analysis: Interpolate modelling outputs to analyse trends and predict future transportation patterns, aiding in creating effective transportation strategies.
Data Management: Ensure that land use, economic, and other relevant data inputs into the transportation models are regularly updated and maintained for accuracy and completeness.
Monitoring and Trend Analysis: Undertake transport monitoring to gather data that will inform trend analyses, ensuring the models are reflective of current conditions and future projections.
Na tau rourou | What will you bring? Degree in a related discipline, i.e. Engineering, Transport Planning, engineering science (or related discipline).
Minimum of 5 years' experience in transport demand and/or traffic model development.
Competency in using and maintaining transport models (preferably with EEME software).
Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint.
Experience in report writing, specifically contextualizing complex information succinctly for a nontechnical audience.
