Senior Test Analyst at Ministry for Primary Industries, Wellington City Role Type: Permanent, full-timeLocation: WellingtonSalary Band: $93,214 to $97,407 depending on skills and experienceAs a Senior Test Analyst, you will help drive testing standards & processes with our Business Technology & Information Services directorate to ensure quality software is released into our production environment.You will work with teams and independently to ensure quality and testing coverage is fit for purpose and MPI's system assurance processes are followed throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and in operations.More specifically, you will:Work with various Project and Business teams to ensure test requirements are understood and deliveredDevelop test requirements, test cases, and test data to ensure efficient and accurate execution of testing for our applicationsWrite test charters & plans for smaller projects, where appropriate, to plan and estimate the test effort in carrying out testing efficientlyRaise bugs and issues including logging & retesting to ensure a comprehensive issue monitoring system is in placeContribute to Systems Assurance process improvementsTo be successful in this role, you will have 5+ years QA experience including test automation, test planning, test execution and reporting outcomes within complex environments. You must be a Newzeland Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident to fulfil the requirements for this particular position.Your technical experience will include:Testing a diverse range of IT applications - minimum of 5 years QA experienceHands-on Test Automation experience using SOAP UI, JMeter and leading UI testing toolsTesting in various test levels within Iterative and hybrid agile deliveryBug tracking and test management toolsets to support testing process.A high level of analytical and problem-solving skills with drive to produce high quality outcomes.A wide variety of information management tools and technologiesProven experience in completing functional, API and non-functional testingImportantly, you will be able to engage in business and technical conversations both internally and externally, be proactive, driven, and outcome focussed, and someone who is able to offer effective solutions to problems.The Business Technology and Information Services (BTIS) Directorate is part of the Corporate Services Branch within MPI.
