A very rare opportunity has arisen for Senior Technical Specialist to join our busy drinking water operations team undertaking a variety of work. You will be;

We are currently looking for a Senior Technical Specialist who will hit the ground running, who has a safety first attitude, who has or is working towards a Level 4 Water Treatment qualification (or equivalent). The ideal candidate will also hold a Class 1 NZ Driver's Licence.
Our Drinking water operations team is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the Rotorua districts drinking water systems our team covers every aspect of your drinking water journey from spring to your tap. Our work includes:
Managing water treatment, sampling and testing
Operating and maintaining pumps and bores
Carrying out infrastructure repair work
Liaising with the public and consumers on water service matters
Running leak detection programmes
Proving, testing and operating valves and hydrants
Pressure and flow testing networks
Monitoring network telemetry
Problem solving and investigating issues in the reticulation system
Meter Reading
Standby roster to keep our water systems operational outside working hours
What you need to succeed:
Level 4 Water Treatment qualification (or equivalent) or working towards it.
You will also need a full clean Class 1 driver's licence (Class 2 desirable).
Experience within the water industry, or related industry with transferable skills.
A demonstrated Health & Safety focus, ensuring own and others' safety at all times.
Can use online app-based programme to record work.
Is highly detail focused.
Can work in a methodical manner
Positive, punctual and reliable
