The Vacancy
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Gilbert & Goode, an award-winning new homes developer in the South West, for a full-time, permanent, Senior Technical Manager.

The Role
As part of the Technical Team, the Senior Technical Manager is responsible for managing the design and regulatory approval process for G&G projects from planning to completion of the build in line with business plan targets.
They support the Head of Service by deputising for the department on the management of the technical team and the strategic overview and management of all projects within the pre-construction stage including programming and reporting.
As an active member of the team, they will progress, monitor and report all projects to the Head of Service and respective Project Manager on compliance with technical specifications, contract requirements, planning conditions, ecological requirements and any relevant aspects provided in pre-construction information.
The role continuously strives to improve and develop pre-construction processes and procedures and agrees strategic approaches with regards to the technical aspects of a project.

Education and Qualifications
It is essential that the postholder is educated to HND or equivalent Level 5 qualification in a design and construction related discipline. It is desirable but not essential to hold a Degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in a related field.
Knowledge and Experience
Good knowledge of Estimating
Strong knowledge of Project Management
Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and Health and Safety in the construction industry
Strong knowledge of Building Safety Act and able to represent the company in the Principal Designer role for all sites allocated to you
Experience and proven ability of the technical stage design management, budgets and quality standards
Experience of strategic level working on projects
