Senior Technical Estimator - Telco

THE ROLE An exciting opportunity now exists for a Senior Technical Estimator to join our team in New Zealand. This role will be responsible for building up cost baselines for new tender opportunities across the wider Telco Business. The successful candidate will provide high-level technical advice on project contract codes to ensure contract costs are accurate and up to date. In addition, they will ensure cost code structure is established and maintained. Included in your wide remit will be the following responsibilities (not limited to): Implementing the HSE Management Plans by setting and maintaining high standards and ensuring direct reports understand and deliver to their HSE accountabilities. Compliance with all Company SH&E policies and procedures. Helping the Work Winning Team as required to ensure compliant bids are produced, mitigating financial and commercial risks for Ventia and our contractors. Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labour, and equipment. Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors. Getting quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame. Assessing the risk levels associated with a project. Preparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be done. Monitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within the estimated costs. ABOUT YOU The ideal candidate will preferably have tertiary level qualifications relevant to Construction, Telco, or Building Services. They will need to have demonstrable experience in a similar role within a large, multi-faceted, and complex business. Other characteristics and skills include: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong stakeholder management skills. High level of written and oral literacy in English. Ability to cope well with pressure and work with multiple stakeholders and conflicting deadlines.
