The Opportunity We're seeking a Senior Technical Engineer to join our civil business – a division of Fulton Hogan specialising in infrastructure construction, based around reinforced concrete. We are currently delivering work ranging from bridges and wharves to water treatment plants, storage tanks and pipelines.
In this role you'll see yourself providing specialist technical advice, guidance, temporary works design and methodology development assistance for our projects and tenders, nationwide.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical problem-solving side of engineering and is keen to develop their temporary works experience further. If you enjoy a challenge where no two problems are ever the same, where you can get stuck in creating bespoke solutions, then our team is the ideal fit for you. This role offers a unique balance between the practical challenges of a contractor and the technical challenges of a consultancy.
This role is a permanent, full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week. The role will be based in Ranui, Auckland; however, you may need to travel to other projects throughout NZ.
What you'll bring to the table You will be great at building and maintaining relationships with our clients, subcontractors and our internal team. You will have a positive and friendly style and build up trust by delivering on promises and creating win-win approaches to negotiations. Communication will be a strength of yours, you will be able to clearly deliver information and workable solutions to our Project Managers, clients and stakeholders.
In addition to this, you will possess the following:
BE or ME or equivalent in a relevant engineering field and experience working with temporary worksChartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalentAt least 5 years' of demonstrated technical expertise in temporary works and related fieldsExperience supervising design engineersAbility to use Word, Excel, AutoCAD and SketchupFamiliarity with engineering design and analysis software including Fusion 360, Slope-W, Wallap, Microstran and GRL-Weap.Fulton Hogan Philosophy Here at Fulton Hogan, we don't just talk about our REAL Values, we live them too.
