Job Description Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Join our Teaching Technical team, working closely with the course coordinators/convenors to determine the pedagogical drivers in human anatomy education. You will also provide course coordinators and tutors with support and domain-specific technical skills while also contributing to developing practical learning resources and activities.  We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Teaching Technician to join our team on a 12-month Fixed-Team (37.5 hours per week) basis.  Working under the legislative and regulatory requirements of the Human Tissue Act 2008 under the guidance of the Inspector of Anatomy, New Zealand Police, and the University of Auckland policies, This role offers excellent opportunities to broaden your knowledge in human anatomy, prosecting, and plastination while supporting undergraduate, postgraduation, and medical professional Teaching.  Key responsibilities of the role are: Care of the teaching cadavers. Independently or assist in embalming. Independently or assist in preparing, restoring, and maintaining prosection and plastination specimens. Independently or assist in the maintenance and storage of hazardous chemicals.  Ensure teaching facilities/rooms are clean, organised per standard operating instructions, and maintained to a high standard, ensuring ongoing functionality, user availability, and regulatory compliance. Independently or assist in the setup and pack-down of research and teaching activities. Support the effective upkeep, safe and smooth operation, and logistical management of the learning spaces to deliver an excellent student experience at the Human Anatomy Facility. Remuneration: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications . You will need to be flexible, resourceful, and have good attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Good computer literacy. Established experience in embalming of at least 7 to 8 years. Experience in explaining, demonstrating, and resolving difficult technical issues. Time management and organisational skills. Self-motivation, flexibility, resourcefulness.
