About us/Mo matou
The Section is one of three departments in Obstetrics & Gynaecology within the University of Otago, the other two being in Christchurch and Wellington.
Our major teaching responsibility is the MB ChB course. We also convene the Postgraduate Diploma of Obstetrics and Medical Gynaecology, and Certificate in Women's Health, which are particularly suitable for GPs, midwives and other primary care practitioners. Our team also contributes to other undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
The role/Te mahi
The University of Otago, in collaboration with Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Southern, is currently seeking advanced training RANZCOG RMOs who are passionate about women's health.
We invite you to join us in a part time capacity as a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Department of Women's and Children's Health, ideally in partnership with a part-time Te Whatu Ora Advanced Training RMO position.
This role offers opportunities to fulfill the RANZCOG academic Advanced Training Module and your personal RANZCOG research requirements.
We recognise the importance of evidence-based practice and the role research plays in advancing the field of obstetrics and gynaecology. By engaging in research and academic pursuits, you will contribute to the growth of knowledge in this vital area of healthcare.

These are permanent positions, located in Otepoti, Dunedin.
We welcome applications from candidates seeking part time opportunities between 0.1FTE – 0.5FTE. Hours of work will be discussed and negotiated with the successful candidates.

The salary scale for a Senior Teaching & Professional Practice Fellow (Medical/Dental) is $102,270 to $172,693, pro rata. Successful candidates will be appointed to an appropriate step on the scale based on skills, qualifications and experience.
