Systems & Cloud DevOps Engineer (Azure)
Permanent role
Location: Wellington-based only

We're seeking a talented Senior System & Azure DevOps engineer for a role starting in January 2025.

You must have proven experience in a DevOps or cloud engineering role, with a strong focus on Azure services and infrastructure (especially Kubernetes).
Plus, our client is looking for someone in a hybrid cloud environment, combining strong back-office systems and network operations engineering experience with solid business user support acumen.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain scalable Azure DevOps pipelines, infrastructure, and automated workflows.
Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).
Optimize and monitor Azure cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and security.
Lead efforts to implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in a cloud-based environment.
Contribute to architecture design decisions and best practices for Azure cloud solutions.
Skills & Requirements:

3-5 years of experience in a DevOps or cloud engineering role, with a strong focus on Azure services and infrastructure.
Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and automation tools.
Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.
Proficiency in containerisation technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices and governance in Azure.
Strong scripting skills in languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Strong skills in Enterprise Infrastructure Engineering including server provisioning, maintaining regular patching schedule, support, and maintenance in hybrid Azure and Linux environments.
Experience in SQL Database Administration.
Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
