Stride's objective is to ensure that all places they own and manage have enduring demand – meaning places that are in demand in all market conditions.The RoleThe newly created role of Senior Sustainability Advisor is responsible for assisting with the implementation and ongoing management of Stride's sustainability strategy, policies, procedures, and practices. The role will be primarily involved in the management of Stride's greenhouse gas software system, along with internal and external communications and reporting with respect to sustainability across Stride and its managed entities.Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesData ManagementContinuous improvement of data gathering and data management overall.Overseeing Stride's emissions inventory, including recording, verification and reporting.Leading external compliance reporting for sustainability, including in respect of the Aotearoa New Zealand Climate Standards.Leading external benchmarking submissions, including for the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB).Implementing an appropriate climate risk assessment process to ensure Stride is monitoring and managing climate risks.Assisting the organisation to remain compliant with statutory requirements regarding sustainability and environmental compliance.Assisting to implement systems for monitoring and managing supplier compliance with Stride's modern slavery requirements.StrategySupporting the development of sustainability objectives and actions.Implementing actions to achieve Stride's sustainability objectives and targets.Implementing sustainability and modern slavery strategies, policies, and procedures.Working with Stride teams to implement sustainability projects and achieve sustainability targets.Preparing Board and Sustainability Committee papers and reports.Contributing to the development and implementation of community investment programs and monitoring the outcome of community investment programs.Integrating sustainability into major projects and key business processes such as procurement.Carrying out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce the organisation's climate risks and financial costs.Promoting internal awareness and continual learning on sustainability issues.About YouYou will resonate with being a sought-after data guru who makes information readily accessible and easy to understand. You will also enjoy creating efficiencies in data management and may have an affinity with insights tools such as Power BI and or advanced Excel skills.Key to your success will be your ability to manage large volumes of data, be discerning on priorities, be proactive in your approach and build effective relationships across a diverse business.Required Skills and Proficiencies5 years plus relevant experience in an ESG/Sustainability Analyst/Adviser position.Strong knowledge of sustainability reporting, particularly in relation to investor ESG reporting.Excellent understanding of sustainability principles and commercial drivers for sustainability.Understanding of greenhouse gas inventory standards.Excellent data management skills.Demonstrated ability to develop credibility and trust with internal and external stakeholders.Knowledge of green building requirements preferred but not required.The Rewards and CultureStride aims to deliver the best returns through the best people and the best places.
