A brand new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Senior Support Workers to join our new Community Enhanced Rehabilitation team.
We are looking for post holders who are passionate about rehabilitation, keen to make a difference, highly motivated, enthusiastic and have experience of working with adults with complex mental health needs.The successful candidates will be offered a breadth of opportunities to develop your skills and all additional training will be provided.This position requires you to work 9-5 Monday to Friday with the ability to travel around in a timely manner.
You will be based at our Yew Tree in Huyton (although this may be subject to change).
As a Merseycare employee, you will receive a generous annual leave allowance, a full set of IT equipment, access to a trust gym and opportunities for further training.Main duties of the jobTo work with adults in the community who have identified rehabilitation needs.To assist the Care co-ordinators in the assessment of needs including mental health.To develop and implement Care Plans and safety plans in collaboration with the service users and family.To act as an advocate for the service users and family.To engage supportively with the service users.To provide appropriate psychoeducation and information to service users and families and carers to promote coping skills.To assist service users in accessing appropriate social, recreational and occupational activities which will aid recovery.To be aware of any clinical risk and to liaise closely with service users MH/Care Co-ordinator and multiagency as appropriate.About usMersey Care is one of the largest trusts providing physical health and mental health services in the North West, serving more than 1.4 million people across our region and are also commissioned for services that cover the North West, North Wales and the Midlands.We offer specialist inpatient and community services that support physical and mental health and specialist inpatient mental health, learning disability, addiction and brain injury services.

We're currently delivering a programme of organisational and service transformation to significantly improve the quality of the services we provide and safely reduce cost as we do so.Flexible working requests will be considered for all roles.Job responsibilitiesTo participate in the directorate's performance management /supervision framework (including external clinical supervision) and work towards meeting identified goals and objectives as agreed in a personal development plan.To act, at all times, in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.To undertake mandatory training as stipulated by the trust.Under the guidance and supervision of a qualified practitioner, to make accurate and appropriate entries into health records.To participate in staff meetings to assist in effective two-way communication.To seek advice and further training, if appropriate, before carrying out any duty you are unsure of.To make the qualified practitioner aware of any incidents arising during your span of duty and carry out any actions arising from this as directed.Take direction from the qualified practitioner as to any duties or tasks assigned to you for your span of duty and carry them out as requested.To participate, as directed in the induction and supervision of new staff.Person SpecificationQualificationsNVQ Level 3 or equivalent.Foundation degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area.Significant demonstrable experience working with service users/ Families/ vulnerable groups with mental health needs.Good level of general education at a minimum GCSE grade's A to C in Maths and English.Experience of working in a care setting - or working with vulnerable service users & families.Additional training in therapeutic interventions.Knowledge/ExperienceAble to communicate effectively.Understanding of issues of confidentiality.To be able to demonstrate a non-judgemental attitude.A demonstrated understanding of Equality and Human Rights.Ability to work as a member of a team.Ability to work on own initiative under the supervision of a qualified practitioner.Experience of deescalation skills and breakaway techniques.Experience of working in service user MHS / a care setting-or working with vulnerable service user/families.An overview of the Trust's Objectives.ValuesAccountability.Support.High professional standards.Responsive to service users.Engaging leadership style.Transparency and honesty.Discreet.Change oriented.SkillsAbility to work as a member of a team.Ability to demonstrate a non-judgemental attitude.Ability to work on own initiative under the supervision of a qualified practitioner.OtherProfessional attitude.Flexibility.Possess a caring, compassionate & empathic attitude.Able to meet the Trust's professional standards.Ability to travel across sites.Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.£26,530 to £29,114 a year per annum pro rata.
