Korero mo te turanga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a permanent, full-time Senior Student Recruitment Adviser to join Te Kahupapa - Future Students Team. The faculty portfolio for this role is to be confirmed but will have a focus on STEM subjects and will work closely with the relevant Communications Marketing and Engagement teams.

Key responsibilities:

Lead the recruitment events and activities for the faculties with the goal of increasing the number of domestic students choosing to study within these faculties.

Provide advice and support to your faculties on domestic recruitment opportunities.

Promote the study programmes from your faculties at recruitment events, expos, secondary school events etc. including hosting students on campus for subject specific experiences.

Networking and relationship building with colleagues in your faculties, secondary school Careers Advisers and subject teacher networks.

Evaluate and monitor faculty recruitment initiatives.

You will:

Be customer-focused, highly organised and proactive.

Be confident in building working relationships and networks, have a passion for event management and enjoy a challenge.

Be comfortable presenting to large groups and use your experience in people facing roles to engage with a diverse range of audiences.

Have a university qualification and experience working in a university, tertiary or public sector environment.

Have experience in student recruitment, marketing or event management.

Have ability to work with people at all levels and establish working relationships and networks.

Have an understanding of the New Zealand secondary school systems.

Have availability to travel outside Wellington and for working evenings and weekends on limited occasions.
