TAIAO ARCHITECTURE AND ENGINEERING LIMITED Position: Full time Salary: $110,000–$150,000 per year depending on experience Lifestyle focused opportunity at a new and growing company. Taiao Architecture and Engineering seek a highly competent senior structural engineer (civil experience is also desirable) to fulfill the senior structural engineer role in the company and assist the director with growing a fun, healthy, customer service and lifestyle focused team. About Taiao Architecture and Engineering Ltd Taiao Architecture and Engineering Ltd was founded by Nev Wilson, a Chartered Professional Civil and Structural Engineer with 15 years' experience, in 2021. Nev initially set up the business with a lifestyle focus for himself serving a limited number of clients with a commitment to excellent relationships and excellent delivery of projects. This approach has led to significant growth and Nev is excited about what the future may hold for Taiao. Taiao Architecture and Engineering has a sustainably focused design preference but works on a diverse range of projects across New Zealand. About your role at Taiao Architecture and Engineering Ltd The CPEng Senior Structural Engineering position involves wide ranging technical engineering, project management, administrative and personal/relationship skills. It is expected that the Chartered Professional Engineer is an ethical, professional, friendly, technically competent and honest person that has a passion for excellent consulting engineering quality, serving customers and continued improvement professionally and personally. The CPEng Senior Structural Engineer must be a technically competent Structural (and preferably Civil) Engineer who excels at structural design, analysis, calculations, drawing review and certification, and construction monitoring. They must be reliable and disciplined, and most importantly must enjoy the process and complexity of being a professional engineer. The CPEng Senior Structural Engineer is expected to know the entire process of low-rise structural engineering consulting including formulating agreements with clients, estimating professional fees, preparing and carrying out a detailed scope of work, carrying out conceptual, preliminary, developed and detailed designs, managing less experienced engineers, approving and issuing documents for building consents, responding to requests for information, construction monitoring and building certification. The person in this role must be able to deliver the entire process to a high customer service standard. About you: The ideal candidate for this role is described as follows: Personal Attributes Positive Hard Working Detail Focused Self-managed Responsible Job Skills Have an eye for architectural detail and presentation detail Technically competent, practical designs, deliver in timely manner Carry out entire engineering consulting services independently with passion and positive relationships Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and analysis software Software and application savvy (example of software used includes SkyCiv, Bluebeam, MemDes, Xero) Communicate effectively with clients Have attractive energy and presentation Have a desire to serve others and improve personally and professionally Be able to use a central email, monitor the email, and add tasks to relevant projects Qualifications and Experience Competent structural engineer with approximately 7 years of experience in low rise building design Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent Washington Accord Degree Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineering New Zealand (or in the process of obtaining) Some experience mentoring or assisting engineers with less experience Why Join Taiao?
