Senior Structural Engineer – Utilities and Industrial

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious and professional Senior Structural Engineer to join our successful Utilities (Water and Power) and Industrial Structures team in Christchurch. Working alongside our national utility structures and industrial experts, who lead a group of highly motivated professionals, you will join an open and supportive culture that values the skills that you can contribute to the team.
In this role you will primarily be responsible for:
Providing technical design advice to power, water or industrial clients, this includes medium to large multi-disciplinary projects
Playing a key role in work planning and financial management
Participate in, or lead, design teams
Building strong internal and external relationships
Providing support for the preparation of winning bids
Actively creating a learning environment where development is encouraged
Being actively involved in the success of the team
Mou ake | About you
You are a Senior Structural Engineer with experience in the utilities (power or water) and/or industrial markets. You are tertiary qualified with design experience ranging from multi-disciplinary utilities to industrial projects. Ideally, you will have specific experience with one or more of the following structure types:
Power utilities structures (containing or supporting transformers, switchboards, etc.)
Liquid-retaining structures and/or water utilities structures (pump stations, culverts, treatment plants, etc.)
Industrial structures (supporting food and beverage, manufacturing, agriculture, mining and metals)
You'll have exceptional communication skills and enjoy working within a tight knit team environment and have the ability to work collaboratively within the wider business. You will be motivated to enhance the delivery of projects with innovative concepts and ways of working. You will be aware of the full design delivery process from developing concept designs through to detailed designs and construction. You will be Chartered, or motivated to achieve chartership, and we will support you in doing this.
