Senior Structural Engineer (CPEng) Location: Christchurch, New Zealand
We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer (CPEng) to join our client's multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy firm. This role is focused on supporting, developing, and helping to manage a team of engineers and technicians, while also contributing to project delivery, client liaison, and mentoring emerging professionals.

Responsibilities:
Technically deliver on structural engineering projects
Review and verify project deliverables
Mentor and develop the skills of the engineering team
Collaborate with clients and other disciplines within the company
Engage in business development and team growth initiatives
Requirements:
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) registered with Engineering New Zealand as a Structural Engineer, or an advancing professional with equivalent experience
Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and technical guidelines
Broad knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and design standards for various structures, building types, and construction materials
Specialist knowledge in earthquake-resistant design of structures
Experience in client liaison, project management, team supervision, and cross-disciplinary collaboration
Excellent communication and networking skills, with a keen interest in business development
Understanding of commercial realities and the influence of economic, social, and political environments
Proven track record of professional behavior, ethics, and integrity, adhering to the Engineering New Zealand Code of Conduct
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in structural engineering design, with a recognized New Zealand Bachelor's degree in Engineering or overseas equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing design teams, engineering business, and client liaison
Demonstrated leadership, self-management, and alignment with our company values
