Our leaders always have and will play a vital part in our journey to help more people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives, build healthier societies and cultivate healthier environments that better everyone.If you sound like that leader, read on.The opportunity:As Senior Strategy Specialist, you'll be the custodian of our strategy, our Strategy team plays a crucial role in setting our direction and driving key initiatives to deliver both short and long term value.Additionally, the senior strategy specialist will monitor, advise and report insights from economic and market trends to ensure active risk management and strategic decisions are made at the Board, AIA Group, and Executive Team level.Key responsibilities include:Lead in the development and communication of a robust strategy that will enable AIA NZ to deliver on our purpose and aspiration;Facilitate robust and strategic decision making across the enterprise, through provision of strategic insights, analysis and thought leadership;Work cross-functionally across the enterprise to ensure the strategy is executed across all business units and that risks, interdependencies, costs, and benefits are well understood and actively managed;Provide support to business units to identify and implement strategic initiatives necessary to support delivery of enterprise strategy;Recommend and support key prioritisation decisions across the enterprise in line with the strategy;Provide support to the Head of Strategy and other senior stakeholders in preparation for Board, Group, and Executive strategy and planning meetings and reporting;Actively monitor the economy, insurance market, trends, strategies and activities of other key competitors and regulators, and communicate this and implications for AIA NZ at the executive and senior leadership level;Develop and maintain a high reputation of the Strategy team throughout the enterprise through network building and consistent professional interactions with all levels of the business;Maintain a strong collegial team ethic and willingness to share and challenge ideas, support others;Assist with any other projects or initiatives as they arise.Ideally, you'll bring:Technical SkillsStrong analytical and problem solving skills, including strong financial acumen, reasoning and logic;Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to precisely and clearly document meeting discussions and actions;The ability to work effectively with senior management, including having the confidence to raise issues and provide constructive feedback where required;Strong judgment to make critical decisions and manage outcomes to strict deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work on numerous projects and tasks simultaneously;Strong organisational and planning skills.Role Related ExperienceStrategy development and execution – strategy consulting or strategy role in large corporate ideal;Strong experience in business case creation and financial modeling;Financial services experience with insurance experience ideal;Facilitate strategic discussions, presentations, and workshops for senior management;Influence at the Executive and Senior Management level;Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams and to effect positive cultural change;Strong coach and mentor; able to understand individual motivators and key drivers of success;Strong relationship management skills to engage stakeholders to understand and influence business objective(s);Strong understanding of process and ability to drive continuous improvement.
