In this role, you will play a pivotal part in our team by providing expert advice, guidance, and development to colleagues and brokers alike.
Your primary responsibility will be managing claims from start to finish, ensuring efficient registration, thorough coverage assessment, and resolution of quantum issues.
You'll delve into the complexities of legal liability assessments and negotiate settlements, all while maintaining a superior level of customer service.
This position encompasses a diverse portfolio spanning marine liability, commercial hull, and international cargo claims, promising a dynamic and stimulating environment.
Given the specialised nature of the role, proficiency in marine claim settlements and policy interpretation is crucial to excel in this challenging yet rewarding opportunity.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity with hybrid working conditions and is open to any of our IAG offices in New Zealand, with a preference for Auckland or Hamilton.
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally meet the below criteria: Strong insurance industry experience, with expertise in marine claims handling.
Experience in, and detailed knowledge of, claims settlement and policy interpretation.
The ability to keep informed on business, industry issues, changes and opportunities.
Experience in the successful settlement of complex or difficult claims.
Knowledge of government acts relating to marine and insurance, institute clauses, incoterms, maritime rules and regulations and the ability to calculate complex claim adjustments.
Ability to manage challenging conversations and negotiate effectively.
