Our Tier 1 Legal 500 ranked national employment team is looking for a senior solicitor or senior associate (four years and above). This is a rare opportunity to join the largest team of employment specialists in New Zealand and the only team that operates seamlessly across its Wellington and Auckland offices. Based in our Wellington Office, you will be a trusted adviser to numerous employers in both the public and private sectors (not only in New Zealand but also overseas). You will need to have strong advocacy skills, bring a practical and commercial approach, thrive on problem-solving and have a friendly professional style.
We partner with our clients to support throughout the employment lifecycle, so you will be involved in the full breadth of employment law issues including contentious and non-contentious matters. Work scope will include:
Drafting clear, plain English HR policies, employment agreements and contractor arrangementsPerformance managementDisciplinary investigations and dismissalsEnforcing restraints of tradePersonal grievances and disputesRestructuring and redundancyIndustrial relations, unions, and collective bargainingRemuneration and employee incentive schemesHealth and safetyPrivacy and data protectionEmployment aspects of corporate transactionsInvestigations, including conduct and culture, disciplinary matters, health and safety, fraud, whistle-blower complaints, and white collar crimeAppearing as counsel in mediations and before the Employment Relations Authority, the Employment Court and the appellate courts.Our team is friendly, approachable, and supportive and provides an excellent environment to continue learning and growing your career.
