The best boats and safest ships run Sea-Flux.The RoleWe're on the lookout for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is a full-time position, based in our head office, in Auckland, New Zealand. You will play a pivotal role in growing and shaping our product and technology, as we continue to scale the platform. You will be a key part and catalyst at every stage of the software development life cycle, including architecture, coding, testing, documentation, and support.We're ideally looking for someone with the following attributes, but even if you don't have all of these, we'd still love to hear from you!Proven experience building scalable, cloud based applicationsStrong proficiency with React / React NativeDeep understanding of user experience and interface designDeep understanding and adherence to modern software standards and best practicesProficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, and data modeling approachesExperience with Agile methodologiesExcellent communication skills (both written and verbal)The following attributes are beneficial, but not essential:Experience with Firebase / Google Cloud PlatformExperience with mobile development on iOS or AndroidMaritime / seafaring knowledge or experienceA Day on DeckYour day-to-day will include:Development and maintenance of our cross-platform SaaS application in React, React Native and NodeJSDevelopment and maintenance of our database and microservices on Firebase & Google Cloud PlatformDesign and prototyping of new components and featuresOwnership of large features and key pieces of functionalityTesting and debugging of new releases, features, and user issuesCollaboration alongside the Head of Engineering and leadership team to influence strategic and product decisions and roadmapParticipate in code reviews and mentorship of other developersActively working to reduce technical debt and building a modular, scalable, and clean architectureFlexible hours and hybrid working optionsModern working environment close to the CBD, close to public transport and cycle lanesYearly training budgetSignificant growth and opportunity for career progression as the business continues to scale worldwidePositive and supportive team culture and environmentModern and innovative tech stack using the latest technologies
