The Opportunity Are you an experienced and independent Senior Shepherd looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team? If you're passionate about farming and eager to take on a varied and rewarding role, we want to hear from you.
As a Senior Shepherd, you'll work closely with our Stock Manager, who will support your growth and development.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Livestock management and stock workLimited tractor workWinter feedingGeneral farm maintenance and fencingThis large sheep and beef station offers plenty of opportunities for dog work. With diverse hill country terrain, you'll be a capable tractor operator who thrives on variety and enjoys rolling up their sleeves to tackle all aspects of farm life.
The Farm Wilanda Downs is a 1679 ha effective finishing breeding hill country station with approximately 420 breeding cows and calves, 7,500 ewes, and finishing 20,000 lambs a year. Wilanda Downs is situated 80km northwest of Invercargill and approximately 40 minutes from Winton.
About You You will have a health and safety mindset, with broad farm experience to support maintenance requirements for the farm. You will also have:
