The government is committed to improving services and outcomes for Maori and strengthening the Crown's relationships with Maori.We are responsible for designing community-based systems of care, agreeing health and wellbeing plans, executing those plans, and monitoring outcomes which then feed into the design process. We work in partnership with our Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora colleagues to shape system-wide public health services across the motu.As a Senior Service Development Manager, you will be a subject matter expert in the Mentally Well life course team, able to hold trusting relationships with Maori, senior sector leaders and health providers, clinicians, and the wider community to address key strategic and operational issues, negotiate key agreements and stewarding change including driving service improvements. This role is regionally based and will include working closely with the Senior Local Area Manager who will hold generalist relationships with providers across their communities, as well as the other regional integration teams and the national team to design and implement service improvements across your region. This role demands adept relationship management, influential skills, a pragmatic approach, and a proactive mindset.This role is based in the Central Region, which is made up of Mid-Central, Whanganui, Capital & Coast Hutt Valley (Wellington Region), Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa. You will need to be based in the region. Your location can be discussed at interview stage.Solid grasp of the practical application of Te Tiriti / Treaty of Waitangi.Demonstrated expertise in commissioning for equity for marginalized communities.Proficient in leading service design.Proven track record in formulating high-quality and timely investment planning strategies and initiatives.Experience in fostering, sustaining, and influencing relationships and partnerships across sectors and organizations, with active engagement with Maori, Pacific peoples and disabled people.Nau mai, uru mai | Come and join usWhen you join us, you become part of transforming the health system.
