About the role: St Cuthbert's College is seeking a warm, highly skilled, and professional Senior School Library Manager, to lead the Senior Library Team with initiative, vision, and expertise in running a busy Year 7-13 Library in its role of supporting student learning, achievement, and wellbeing. The ideal candidate will have a love of books, reading and research, extensive knowledge of literature, very high levels of ICT expertise and knowledge of resources, as well as experience working with students. Library teaching experience also will be an advantage. The desired qualifications would include recognised library or tertiary qualifications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proven leadership qualities will be essential. What you will be doing: - Lead the Senior Library Team in delivering to staff, students and the College community, excellent services and support in reading, research and information literacy. - To be responsible for the day-to-day management, operation, and evaluation of the Senior Library, in collaboration with the Director of Library Services. - Manage the Library timetable, events, projects and support events in the library. - Ensure the Library management system is kept up-to-date and information is easily accessible. - Communicate and collaborate effectively with the Library Team, including professional development of Team members, teaching students and student librarians. - Develop and manage the library teaching programme including participating in the Y11 Diploma Citizenship Programme. - To assist the Director of Library Services and be involved in the strategic direction of Libraries. - Deliver 'can do', friendly, efficient customer service. - Create a warm and welcoming 'By Love Serve' atmosphere. Skills required: - Tertiary qualified – Bachelor level degree or equivalent, with experience in library/ILT/literature. - 5-10 years' professional librarian experience at a senior level. - Wide knowledge of books / literature, curriculum and teaching experience. - Very strong ILT skills; including experience with digital library and information resources, management systems, content curation and databases. - Experience leading a team. - Competence in budget management. - Very strong writing /communication skills. - Confident use of various media.
