We work collaboratively with iwi, Government, not-for-profits and businesses to achieve outcomes that benefit our community.Te aheinga - The opportunityAs a result of NPDCs Organisation Transformation Review, a number of new teams and roles have been created, including the Project Management Office (PMO). NPDC has over $1B of capital projects to deliver over the next decade and the PMO plays a crucial role in delivering this significant investment efficiently and effectively for our community.We are looking for an experienced project practitioner to fill our vacant Senior Scheduler role. The role will provide high quality portfolio level scheduling and project level planning and analysis expertise to support the successful delivery of NPDCs approved capital plan (Long Term Plan).Tino takohanga - Key responsibilities:Development of a baselined portfolio level (asset class) master delivery programme incorporating time, cost and resource requirements to take projects and programmes through the project lifecycle.Options assessment to determine the optimum balance of time, cost and resource required to deliver the master programme, given priorities, available funding and resource constraints.Monitor performance against baseline, highlighting performance issues and supporting management in analysing and managing these.Work with the PMO leadership team to identify and solve practical constraints related to cost and resources.Work with cost managers to consider/test productivity assumptions to improve accuracy of cost estimating through the project lifecycle.Support project managers with tender schedule reviews / approvals and monitoring.In conjunction with project teams (including external suppliers), analyse critical path and constraints to determine the effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-around or alternative courses of action or recovery where there is slippage.Preparation of high-level schedule and milestone reports that supports effective governance and decision making.Nga tino pukenga me nga wheako - Essential skills and experience:You will ideally be tertiary degree qualified in an engineering or related quantitative discipline or significant programme or project planning experience, plus:A background in infrastructure planning with experience in planning and modelling in a complex environment with competing priorities.Understanding of Project Management principles (has or is working towards PRINCE2 or MSP certification).Experience in planning and optimising project and programme plans, incorporating time, cost and resource requirements.An ability to engage with experts from a range of disciplines including planning, technical, commercial, financial, and the supply chain to develop a realistic programme of work.Desirable:Experience working with Kaupapa Maori, competency in Tikanga and a dedication to applying Te Ao Maori lens.Experience working in a complex public facing environment with working knowledge of Local Government legislation.He aha ai a Taranaki? - Why Taranaki?With the stunning Mt Taranaki as a backdrop and the warm iron sands along our coast, it is no wonder Taranaki is one of the best regions in New Zealand and the world.
