They are proud of their strong brand presence and this company has a great reputation, attracting like-minded people to join them.Senior Risk Manager July 23, 2024A little bit about the companyTheir office is based on the Northshore and currently has a hybrid working-from-home/office set-up.Some more information about the roleThe purpose of the Senior Risk Manager role is to assist the Head of Risk Services with leading and managing the risk practices for the Finance and Actuarial (F&A) division. The role acts as a trusted adviser across all levels of the division including its leadership team, to ensure that its financial, operational, business and conduct risks are managed effectively.Key responsibilities will include the following:Lead Line 1 risk practices for the Finance and Actuarial (F&A) divisions.Lead and manage the development, implementation and monitoring of the risk and control framework.Provide advice and guidance to assist F&A with managing its end to end financial processes and controls.Lead and manage control assurance programs and attestation activities to ensure all statutory, regulatory and policy requirements are met.Oversee and report on policy adoption, implementation and on-going review requirements.Ensure F&A meets its Business Continuity Management (BCM) requirements.Provide advice and guidance to assist F&A with identifying and managing delivered risk arising from projects and initiatives.Support and manage the identification, assessment and resolution of issues and incidents.Manage the coordination of internal audit reviews.Undertake reviews and/or deep dives where required and provide insightful analysis and recommendations to mitigate any risk exposures.Provide insightful and accurate risk reporting to the leadership team, forums and committees.You must have actuarial (life insurance) and financial risk management experience to be considered for this role as the role will be working alongside the Actuarial division.So, who are you?It is essential that you have actuarial (life insurance) and financial risk management experience, with 6 years finance risk management experience from the financial services industry. Strong communication skills are a must for this role, you will be working closely with the Finance and Actuarial divisions where you will need to have robust and detailed conversations.This role offers great career development opportunities and although it doesn't have direct reports at this stage, you will need to show leadership capability and the ability to manage multiple senior stakeholders.
