At Tait Communications, we're offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior RF Engineer to join our mission of delivering reliable communication solutions that support New Zealand's Public Safety Network (PSN). Here, your expertise will directly contribute to critical emergency services, helping to create a safer world.As a Senior RF Engineer at Tait, you'll play a leading role in delivering cutting-edge RF solutions for public safety. You'll design complex VHF and UHF Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems and tackle modern challenges in digital RF and Radio Access Network (RAN) subsystems. You'll also lead technical peer reviews, mentor the RF Engineering team, and represent our work directly to customers.Key ResponsibilitiesLead wide-area, multi-site trunked (P25) network design projects, utilising advanced modelling tools like ATDI HTZ to assess RF coverage, interference, and capacity.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Electrical, Structural, Mechanical, and Environmental, to optimize design performance.Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and conduct RF assessments to maintain licensing integrity.Develop, document, and present RF models and technical designs for customer approval, fostering knowledge-sharing for future innovation.Extensive experience (10+ years) in LMR RF design, ideally with expertise in site builds for LMR networks.Skilled in RF system deployment and coverage verification; experience with Python, Perl, or Linux scripting is a plus.Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit, with hands-on experience in GIS/mapping systems and site environments.At Tait Communications, you'll be part of a team dedicated to connecting people with purpose.
