An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly-motivated senior research technician to provide complex, specialist and substantive support to the Cure Program which is developing regenerative treatments for spinal cord injury.
The successful candidate will:
Provide leadership and coaching to the research group.
Demonstrate technical expertise in practical skills, underlying knowledge, and health & safety or compliance considerations relevant to their area.
Guide others to undertake practical operations in a safe and effective manner.
Model and encourage behaviours aligned to the development and maintenance of technical expertise in their assigned area.
Keep abreast of the latest technical equipment, tools, and techniques in relation to their areas of expertise and train others in their use where appropriate.
This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), 24 Month fixed term opportunity.
Remuneration: $68,600 - $84,700 (dependent on skills and experience)
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must have a post-graduate degree in health sciences. Experience in animal handling, surgery, and post-op care is essential for this position. Experience in neuroscience is highly advantageous, although preclinical work in other fields is relevant.
Applicants must be highly motivated, industrious, enthusiastic, curiosity-driven, and able to work independently, accurately, and carefully. Good organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential as are personal integrity and good work ethics.
Along with this, you will:
Possess excellent communication skills including written report writing and the ability to verbally communicate with a range of different stakeholders.
Have a degree or relevant tertiary qualification.
Be proficient in project management software and methodologies.
