Job Description The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi The Auckland Bioengineering Institute (ABI) is a cross-faculty research centre.
Our research deals with the application of mathematical and engineering sciences to biology and human physiology.
We aim to improve understanding of physiological processes and the diagnosis and treatment of injury or disease.
The Research Services team at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute supports our research community to carry out cutting-edge, exciting research that extends beyond conventional bioengineering research.
We are excited to announce that we have an opportunity for a permanent Senior Research Programme Coordinator to join our team.
In this role, you will hold key responsibilities for activities related to our post-award support in ABI.
In addition, you will hold a portfolio of researchers providing effective coordination of various tasks throughout the research lifecycle from proposal through to project closure.
Key Accountabilities: Proposal and project coordination throughout the full lifecycle from the pre-award to the post-award.
Proactively disseminate funder contract knowledge and compliance within ABI to ensure compliance with ABI and University policies and procedures.
Take a lead in process development and documentation of ABI research management.
Establish strong working relationships with other key central stakeholders such as Shared Transaction Centre, Research & Innovation Office, Research Operations Centre and other ABI members.
Provide mentoring and coaching to Research Programme Coordinators, including training for new team members.
You will be the first point of contact related to research management support to researchers assigned to your portfolio, providing them excellent research management support.
This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week.
The salary range is $68,600 - $84,700 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

About the team | Mo to matou ropu ABI is a world-leading research institute that aims to improve medical diagnosis and treatment of injury and disease.
We do this through the application of engineering sciences and technical innovation to medicine and human physiology.
The Institute has around 250 members, of which approximately 105 are graduate students enrolled in Doctoral or Master's research.
All our students are members of at least one multi-disciplinary research team, which often include valuable collaborations with domestic and international clinicians, medical professionals, computer scientists and bioengineers.
About you | He korero mou You will be adept at working collaboratively, with the ability and autonomy to effectively prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines.
You'll also be a problem-solver, flexible and adaptable in a busy environment, balancing multiple demands to a high level of accuracy, with exceptional attention to detail.
You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interpret and explain complex policies and information to people from various backgrounds and levels of understanding.
You will have proven experience of financial processes and information, as well as a high proficiency with Microsoft Excel that gives you the confidence and ability to develop, analyse, and complete ad-hoc financial reporting requirements.
Experience with effective post-award research management of international funding (e.g.
US Federal, Welcome Trust).

Qualifications Bachelor's degree, relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent working experience.
