About the role: This is a challenging and interesting role for a Senior Reputation & Engagement Communications Manager for a period of 12 months (both part-time and full-time hours options available to discuss) expected to have in-house experience under their belt.
Reporting to the Head of Reputation and Engagement Communications and working with the GM Corporate Affairs, Communications team and leaders right across our business, you will proactively identify reputation issues and emerging risks, as well as opportunities and work with the senior leadership teams and the wider Corporate Affairs team to protect ASB's reputation.
The right person for this role will be proactive about sniffing out a story and developing creative ways to leverage it internally and externally, with media and on social. They'll have a strong instinct for potential and emerging risks and work with the business to manage them appropriately.
This is a fast-paced role and there are plenty of interesting opportunities to learn and further develop your skills. From amplifying ASB's sponsorships, launching new products, supporting our senior leaders, and managing our external presence during a crisis, there's huge scope to make this role your own.
What do I need to be successful? We are looking for someone who ideally has a great blend of experience across internal and external communication disciplines and has worked in large complex organisations.It's a role that will see you identifying external and internal storytelling opportunities and making recommendations on communication strategies to create positive outcomes, while mitigating risk.We are looking for someone with energy, intellectual curiosity, and creativity; working under pressure to meet tight deadlines is something you thrive on.Someone who is interested in finding the 'why' and gets excited by the prospect of turning problems into opportunities.You'll need a measured and professional approach and be comfortable working with, advising, and influencing senior stakeholders.Have a sixth sense about reputation risk, highly attuned to and experienced at recognising reputation threats, and skilled at finding ways to mitigate them.Strong issues management experience and the ability to adapt frequently and work calmly in high-pressure situations.Passion for building strong relationships across all levels of the organisation and with media.As a Corporate Affairs team, we have big ambitions, and this role is integral to achieving them.
