Bring your skills and expertise to the Building System Delivery and Assurance team and help us deliver our diverse work program!Location: Wellington or Christchurch based, permanent roleSalary range: $103,290-$132,417Tenei turanga - About the Role:An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Advisor to join the Business System Delivery and Assurance (BSDA) team with Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery Branch.The Building System Delivery & Assurance team is responsible for a range of building regulatory functions involving regulatory compliance, monitoring and assurance, and service delivery.
These functions include monitoring of Building Consent Authorities and Territorial Authorities, building products assurance, oversight of CodeMark as the building product certification scheme, and assessment of MultiProof applications.The Senior Regulatory Specialist role is responsible for contributing to the day-to-day monitoring of the CodeMark/MultiProof/BuiltReady schemes.
This position will also support MBIE to provide practical, easy to navigate information on product certification pathways, and product compliance issues.
The role is responsible for technical coaching and mentoring of other team members, work allocations and contribute to the resolution of complex technical issues that arise.The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the building regulatory system and have experience working as a senior advisor of a team.You will work closely with the Manager, Building Regulatory Services and Technical Lead, Building Regulatory Delivery to contribute to meeting the objectives of the wider Building Regulatory Delivery team.Join us as a Senior Regulatory Specialist – Building Regulatory Services and play your part in shaping one of New Zealand's leading sectors.Nga pukenga me nga wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience RequiredKnowledge and experience applying the policies and procedures associated with the regulatory processes that are relevant to this roleExperience managing internal and external stakeholders, including undertaking projects with representatives from building sector organisationsStrong track record in providing senior support to a delivery focused teamDemonstrated experience in interpreting and applying the building regulatory frameworkExperience providing coaching and mentoring for developing team membersAbility to apply critical thinking, and support decision making utilising legislation and technical experienceWell-developed technical writing abilityHave proven ability to develop trust and credibility with managers and staff including skills in managing upwardsMust have the legal right to live and work in New ZealandEtahi korero mo MBIE - About MBIE:MBIE's goal is to create a resilient and high-performing economy that delivers real and ongoing quality of life for all New Zealanders.
