Senior Regional Investment Advisor at Te Puni Kokiri - Ministry of Maori Development, Auckland Fixed Term until 30 September 2024Te Puni Kokiri (Ministry of Maori Development) is a government agency that works within government and communities to achieve our vision of Thriving Whanau .We are seeking two Regional Investment Senior Advisors who will be based in our regional offices (Waikato, Tamaki Makaurau and Hastings) but report centrally to the Manager Investment Planning and Support based in National Office in Wellington.The Regional Investment Senior Advisors are newly established and have been setup to support the successful delivery of our investment programmes across the motu. They will play a critical support role within our regional network. This role is primarily internal facing and will:Champion and promote the TPK investment strategy.Take a business partner approach to understanding the context of the region and supporting regional staff with investment opportunities to ensure investment practice is maintained.Promote best practice funding and contracting processes and systems.Provide advice and support to regional staff on the parameters and requirements of investment programmes and initiatives.Provide quality assurance advice to Regional Directors across investments.Provide regional insights to the portfolio teams to support investment improvements.To be able to support the rohe the Regional Investment Senior Advisor will need to understand the local landscape, as well as, from time to time participate in other Te Puni Kokiri regionally lead mahi.Ko wai koe | About youIn this role you will report to the Manager Investment Planning and Support. To be successful you will have:At least three years Senior level experienceAn ability to identify, build and actively manage relationships, valuing diverse perspectives and experiences.Comfort in working in a tikanga / kaupapa Maori environment, a degree of fluency in Te reo Maori is of benefit.Excellent communication skills and strong critical reasoningAn understanding of best practice contracting processesAn ability to promote and champion best practice contracting processesExcellent communication skills - highly developed skills of persuasion and influenceAn understanding of government and public sector processes.The ability to identify and manage risks and issues.Demonstrated capability in providing high quality advice and recommendations.Numeracy and competency with spreadsheets and databases.A willingness and ability to travel regularly across the designated Te Puni Kokiri regionA relevant tertiary qualificationA clean full motor vehicle driver's licence.What will you get in return?A diverse and rewarding working environment full of passionate people focussed on discovering solutions that will assist in serving our communities.
