He angitutanga | About the role You will be joining our talented Heritage and Visitor team within the District Operations team.
Senior Rangers perform an advisory function to the Operations Manager, planning and influencing the prioritisation of technical heritage and visitor work.
You will lead the planning and prioritisation of the teams' work program, undertaking performance monitoring and reporting, having oversight of the teams' finances, and holding higher level stakeholder relationships.
Your work will cover a diverse range of tracks, huts and amenities across coastal, wetlands, forest and many other significant natural areas within the district.

* Contract and project management experience.

community groups, landowners, regional councils).
* Ability and willingness to work closely with tangata whenua.
* Skilled at coaching, training and supporting staff with the acquisition of technical knowledge.
* Proven resilience, with ability to keep calm under pressure while managing high profile work.
* Full New Zealand driver licence.
Mo te tima | About the team You will be joining a supportive and collaborative team who value their staff and invest in personal development and growth.
The Coastal Otago District Operations team consists of 27 staff and this increases by approximately 31 during the busy summer season.
Led by the Operations Manager, the operational team consists of the Heritage and Visitors, Biodiversity, and Community teams.
We have a positive work culture, and often work across teams when there is priority work on.

The team is based at the Dunedin Office which has over 100 Te Papa Atawhai staff from a range of National and Regional roles which enables collaboration and great learning opportunities across our wider work.
