Your new companyOur client is a well-established locally owned and operated roofing contractor, with a reputation for delivering quality outcomes on some of New Zealand's largest commercial projects.
Due to successfully landing a number of large contracts, they are looking to expand their commercial team.
This role will be in a purely post-contract capacity and will be working closely with a well-established team of Estimators and Project Managers while reporting to the company Directors on the financial performance of ongoing projects.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is precise, cost-efficient and has a strong commercial acumen.Your new roleThe position will be fairly hands-on, and the key deliverable for the successful candidate will be focused on efficiently administrating contracts, pricing and managing all variations and taking an active role in reviewing project performance to highlight any areas where cost-efficiencies can be made.
A number of key responsibilities will be as follows:Receive Subcontracts, review and execute contract documentsReview contract instructions and liaise with main contractorsIdentify and issue any variations to contractsQuantify, price and submit variation pricingManage all payment schedules & claimsReview and sign off Final Account statementsManage retention records and submit retention release claimsReview & report on cost and profitability for completed projectsWhat you'll need to succeedYou will hold a Diploma or higher in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying and have a strong track record in the construction industry.
Experience working in a lead or sole charge role for a contractor focused on the tender market and a background working within a relevant subtrade or roofing contractor would be beneficial, but not essential.What you'll get in returnThe opportunity to stamp your mark on the role and work closely with senior leadership and drive forward the overall commercial outcomes of the business.
