Full time permanent role : Bachelor's degree in QS Construction Management, Civil Engineering New Zealand Resident Senior Quantity Surveyor (High-Rise Building Construction)

My client is a leading construction firm specializing in high-rise building projects that shape skylines and redefine urban landscapes. They are committed to excellence, innovation, and sustainability in every project they undertake.
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-rise commercial building construction, with proven expertise in cost management, contract administration, and project financial control. This role involves overseeing the quantity surveying functions for major high-rise projects, ensuring that all aspects of project costs are effectively managed and controlled. Your main responsibilities will be to: Evaluate and price measuring documents Create construction schedules of quantities and project budgets Obtain quotes from suppliers for materials Calculate material rates Conduct contract negotiations with clients and contractors Audit invoices, process variations, client progress claims, subcontractor progress payments, and manage financial tracking/reporting and supplier payments Administer general contracts, including document control Develop project programming Ensure quality assurance standards are met Resolve disputes between contracting parties Attend site visits, engage with subcontractors, and liaise with clients Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, RICS) is highly desirable. Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a significant portion of this experience in high-rise building construction projects. Skills: Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement processes. Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Attributes: Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues. Strong leadership and team management skills.
