Your Impact:
Reporting to the Group Head of Quality, Regulatory and New Product Development and based in Auckland, New Zealand, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and food safety within our gold-standard manufacturing sites. This newly created greenfield role will play a critical part in driving continuous improvement in manufacturing practices, product quality, and compliance across all sites. Our ideal candidate will be a functional expert in manufacturing quality who will possess a strategic mindset, multi-site management, strong leadership skills, and a comprehensive understanding of quality management in the food manufacturing industry.
More specifically, you will be involved in:
Focus on the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality systems that meet Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) guidelines and specific regulatory requirements for key markets, including China and the United States.
Lead the development and implementation of quality assurance protocols and standards across all manufacturing sites.
Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of quality systems, ensuring alignment internally and externally, including the specific needs of key markets such as China and the US.
Collaborate with Product Development, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to ensure new products meet all quality and safety standards.
Conduct regular audits and inspections of manufacturing sites.
Ensure all manufacturing processes are well-documented and adhere to both internal and external standards.
Identify and assess quality risks within the manufacturing environment and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Monitor and analyse quality data to proactively address potential issues.
Lead, mentor, and develop the quality team within the manufacturing sites and promote an exceptional quality and safety culture.
Providing training and guidance to manufacturing teams on quality standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
What you will bring:
Minimum 15 years of experience in Quality Management in manufacturing, quality assurance, or supply chain management within the food manufacturing industry, with a focus on infant formula products or dairy nutritional powders is essential.
Demonstrated multi-site and crisis management experience is crucial.
An in-depth knowledge of manufacturing quality.
The ability to build and lead cross-functional teams collaboratively and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Strong understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., RMP, FSC, HACCP) and quality management systems (e.g., GFSI, ISO 9001, GMP).
Extensive experience problem solving, negotiating, trouble shooting and continuously driving improvements.
Willingness to travel throughout the Auckland region weekly, to regional New Zealand once a month and Australia once per quarter.
An understanding of overseas manufacturing requirements and what consumers consider premium products would be advantageous.
Bachelor's degree in food science, quality assurance, supply chain management, or a related field is required.
