Senior Project Scheduler

Details of the offer

We are a Crown-owned company charged with leading and supporting Government infrastructure projects and programmes across Aotearoa. Since being repurposed in 2023, our focus is on supporting the Crown to deliver national infrastructure projects and programmes for a range of government agencies. We take on the day-to-day accountability for procurement and design and delivery of infrastructure and property projects, and we've recently been mandated to deliver projects for agencies with low delivery capability.
Our teams based in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland take pride in rigorously managing the budget, timeframe and scope of infrastructure projects to ensure projects are delivered safely on time, on budget and end-user expectations are managed, and projects deliver value-for-money for the Crown. Our objectives are to improve the consistency, effectiveness, and efficiency of Crown infrastructure delivery.
Joining our Project Support Office (PSO) and reporting to the Scheduling Manager, the Senior Project Scheduler will contribute to the execution of the schedule management function for our project delivery teams and/or external Government departments and agencies. This involves developing and maintaining accurate and timely project schedules for vertical and horizontal infrastructure projects which we are playing a role in delivering.
You will be relied on for your detailed analysis and high-quality reporting proficiency to ensure that any deviations identified in projects are picked up and communicated through the correct channels to the affected parties. You will take a proactive approach in all your work including highlighting critical pinch points in the delivery of the project and offering possible mitigation methodologies.
This is an amazing opportunity to utilise your advanced scheduling capability in a high-performing, collaborative project team environment. This position is a permanent, full-time opportunity with hybrid and flexible working conditions.
The successful Senior Project Scheduler we're looking for will have:
A relevant CAPM project management qualification, PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) or relevant Civil Engineering and Construction Management Tertiary qualification
Extensive experience in the construction or civil infrastructure industry, with an in-depth and practical understanding of how horizontal and vertical projects are constructed
Proficiency in using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
Advanced knowledge of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
Demonstrated experience in schedule management of multiple complex projects concurrently
Self-motivated, excellent time management skills to meet tight deadlines, and attention to detail
Ability to operate within a fast-paced, dynamic, and changing work environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service focus.
The successful candidate will need to be comfortable with occasional travel to our other offices in Christchurch and Wellington for the purposes of connecting with PSO and wider team members.
Based in our Auckland office, you'll enjoy the awesome office culture that's been established – built on support, high quality performance and having fun along the way!
Come join our team and continue to build our reputation as a centre of excellence for delivery and make your mark on projects that will be around for generations of New Zealanders to come.
You'll soon become familiar with our four values; Make it Happen, Keep it Simple, Do What's Right, and Building Lasting Relationships. They are fully integrated into our team culture and the way we do business. We are proud that our team members don't just know our values but are guided by them in carrying out their work. We recognise them in each other, and we actively celebrate when they're lived out in exceptional ways.
If this all sounds like you, we look forward to hearing from you.
