Reporting to the Team Lead - Water Planning Delivery, the focus of this role is to deliver water planning projects in line with Watercare's Asset Management Plan (AMP). Sitting in the Strategy and Planning unit, the Water Planning Delivery team picks up projects from the business need stage and has the opportunity to shape the full project delivery lifecycle. Key responsibilities will include: Progressing the delivery of planning activities associated with AMP with a focus on highly complex and significant projects and programmes across our water treatment plants and water networks. Ensuring that the feasibility phases of our AMP are progressing in a cost-efficient manner. You will be independently leading projects and identifying solutions that meet our business, community, mana whenua, stakeholder and operational expectations. To be successful in this role, you will need: A strong communication skillset to thrive in an environment where you liaise with multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally. Problem-solving abilities and a customer solutions focus. Your skills and background also include: Tertiary level qualification (engineering, construction, sciences, planning, environmental) 7+ years engineering and/or project management experience Management of consultants and contractors on multi-disciplinary projects Large scale project and programme financial and contract management Water industry experience is desirable, as is formal project management training.
