NPDC has over $1B of capital projects to deliver over the next decade and the PMO plays a crucial role in delivering this significant investment efficiently and effectively for our community.Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for an experienced project management professional to fill our vacant Senior Project Manager – Universal Water Metering role. Leading a small project team, the role is responsible for the safe and successful delivery of the $24M universal water metering project.Tino takohanga - Key responsibilities:Undertake the Senior Project Manager role within the Councils Portfolios, Programme and Project Management (P3M) FrameworkAllocate, prioritise and manage team activities, and drive and monitor programme and project performance and facilitate improvements required to achieve prescribed objectives.Supporting the culture of supply chain leadership within project teamsResponsible for ensuring health and safety leadership is embedded throughout the entirety of the project life-cycle using the Council's Safety in Design processEnsure accurate reporting on project by reporting on expenditure against budget on a monthly basis including variances and cash flow profilingNga tino pukenga me nga wheako - Essential skills and experience:You will ideally hold relevant tertiary or project management qualifications, with a minimum of 5 years' experience leading multidisciplinary teams and projects through the full lifecycle, plus the following:A team player who is outcome focused with the ability to build successful working relationships with key stakeholders including technical experts from a range of disciplines to reach successful outcomesStrong commercial acumen and working knowledge of a variety of commercial contractsKnowledge of the requirements in relation to health and safety management with a proven ability to lead a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture, and awareness of obligations and requirements in relation to employment conditions and cultural responsivenessExperience supporting the development of processes and procedures to support the operation of a service once builtDesirablePrevious experience leading projects with a high degree of public and political interestExperience working with Kaupapa Maori, competency in Tikanga and a dedication to applying Te Ao Maori lens.Experience working in a complex public facing environment with working knowledge of Local Government legislation.He aha ai a Taranaki? - Why Taranaki?With the stunning Mt Taranaki as a backdrop and the warm iron sands along our coast, it is no wonder Taranaki is one of the best regions in New Zealand and the world.
