This transformation includes the launch of a national ticketing system (NTS), implementation of the new and improved regional public transport network, a new website to support digital services, and a rebranding initiative to modernise the public transport identity.
This position will have significant focus on IT, managing the website and NTS technological infrastructure, and ensuring seamless integration of digital systems.The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing the delivery of these four projects.

Alongside 'doing the doing', this role balances developing the capability of others and promoting best practice at Taranaki Regional Council.Duties include ownership of the four projects:• Public Transport Service (2026): Implementation of the new and improved regional public transport service.• National Ticketing System (2025): Implementation of the NTS that integrates payment methods across the motu, increasing convenience for users.• New Website (2026): Development of an updated, user-friendly website to provide features such as real-time schedules, trip planning, payment options, and other public transport services.• Rebranding (2026): Redesign of the public transport brand, including logos, visual identity, and marketing materials to reflect the modernised service and improve public perception.Key skills and experience:• Delivery of Project: A consultant will complete the gap analysis and develop a detailed project plan; a comprehensive briefing will be given to the Project Manager who will successfully manage and deliver the projects.• Monitoring, Control and Governance - Performance is measured using the following indicators:• Experience in public transport or infrastructure project management.• Expertise in IT project coordination, especially with ticketing systems and websites.• Effective communication skills for stakeholder management, including local government, contractors, transport operators, and the public.• Knowledge of risk management and governance frameworks; TRC's Risk Management Framework will be implemented throughout the project.• Budget and timeline management expertise to ensure all parts of the project are completed on schedule and within budget, with appropriate adjustments for any delays or changes in scope.• Experience with cross-functional team leadership, to ensure alignment on project goals and resolving any conflicts or challenges that arise.• Closing: Final deliverables are reviewed and accepted, lessons learnt documented, and a formal closure report prepared.
