We also purchase major equipment which becomes a capability when it is used by those in service of the New Zealand Defence Force.Mo te tunga I About the roleThis role is an opportunity to join a high-profile project for Defence in the Information Domain of our Capability Delivery Division.The project is undertaking design and delivery work to update classified networks as well as the production of a Project Implementation Business Case (PIBC) for the project's second phase. The project currently runs a hybrid project management methodology with the need to align with waterfall processes as well as integrate and deliver with parts of NZDF that utilise Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of project management across a number of workstreams, including scheduling, project reporting, financial forecasting and reporting, and oversight of project management artefacts. You will support the project through all the elements of the capability life cycle.The Ministry supports career and skill development and has a number of internal communities of practice operating to support the delivery of large complex capabilities for the Defence Force, allowing you to contribute across the Capability Delivery Division and the wider Ministry.We want to know about the skills and experience you will bring to this role so we have listed the role requirements below:A proven track record in delivering large, multi-faceted and complex projectsExperience in project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2) and their applicationKnowledge of Agile delivery principles and methodologiesExperience in project delivery of network and technology infrastructure solutionsExperience in interpreting workstream outcomes into project based delivery plansDeveloped ability to work with senior workstream leads or work package owners to drive task deliveryRisk management and project financial management experienceProven ability to deal with complex, conceptual issues and ability to apply problem solving techniquesSound communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple pieces of workHighly motivated, self-driven with a positive attitudeExcellent scheduling and Microsoft Project skillsBeing highly organised and systematic with a high level of attention to detailWe ask all our people to undertake a commitment to doing their part to deliver on the Crown's commitments to Maori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
