We are looking for a permanent Senior Project Manager to join our Infrastructure Regulation Branch. From ensuring our critical infrastructure is resilient to natural disasters to supporting the transition to Net Zero - this role will see you leading the delivery of projects that tackle some of the biggest challenges facing Aotearoa New Zealand today.
Mo te turanga | About the role Based in either our Te Whanganui-a-Tara or Tamaki Makaurau offices, you will plan and deliver our largest projects that run to non-negotiable statutory deadlines. These projects oversee billions of dollars in revenues and enforceable standards of quality for regulated monopolies like Transpower, the owner and operator of the national electricity grid. As a key member within the team, you'll work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams ranging from engineers, lawyers, and accountants to economists and data specialists.
You'll be comfortable working in a policy setting helping the team to define outcomes and objectives, plan consultation processes, and produce outputs that withstand appeal rights. You'll be familiar with matrix style working arrangements, managing resources alongside other demands and helping establish clear roles and responsibilities within your projects to get the best out of people.
The indicative salary range for this role is $122,320 - $165,491 plus 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects their individual skills, experience, and internal relativities across the organisation.
You will be an experienced project management professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with large teams. You will have a proven track record of delivering large complex projects and can leverage this experience to help set standards for other projects and improve how we do things. You're strategic, an excellent communicator, and someone who works collaboratively with a range of key stakeholders. You're able to create structure but you're also able to adapt and change plans where the need arises.
